Promote Your BBE Entry With Local Media!

Earlier this month, we wrote a blog post regarding the different ways you could promote your entry – and in turn, hopefully increase your votes. We have had an overwhelming number of bloggers letting us know how they have been promoting their entry – but we wanted to share one we spotted recently with you. Glen Shorey from Adventures of Wheelchair Boy blog, wrote to his local newspaper in a bid to increase his votes and travel for the first time. We think it is great that he has involved his local media platform, don’t you?

How have you been promoting your entry? Have you set up a giveaway? Or have you made posters to give to friends and family? Or have you just used social networking sites? Let us know!Β

  1. If I am elected, I will write that experience and will publish it to the media. (newspapers, magazines or tabloids. Also to online media)

Meanwhile, to get support, I made a poster that I paste in some places.

I will write about it soon.

  2. I get a tremendous help from one of blogger community in Indonesia. All the member of this community are moms and women. They support me to be part of this program. It would be great if I can be their representative on BBE. Blogger mom goes abroad for an exchange! The community’s name is Kumpulan Emak-emak Blogger.

  3. I happen to join this contest the same time I was about to throw a giveaway for my blog’s anniversary. Decided to add an option for them to vote for me as a means to promote my entry. But I get more votes on Facebook and Twitter where I personally message everyone I know. My friends and family also shared my entry to their friends, officemates and so on. The result was tremendous and very humbling. πŸ™‚

  4. I am not only promoting my blog and the Big Blog Exchange by some social media (facebook & linkedin), but I have also written to

    a) my local newspaper (20.03). There is an article about me and the BBE in the paper version and the digital version (http://www.nieuwsblad.be/article/detail.aspx?articleid=DMF20130320_00511729)

    b) the blog of my hometown, where you can find for so far, 5 posts on my participation: http://tbrakelt.wordpress.com/2013/03/08/tbrakelt-ook-in-parijs-en-op-het-wereldwijde-web/

I’m trying to spread as much as possible the word about this great competition (and about my blog of course :))!

  5. There are a couple key things I’ve done to get people to participate in the voting process. I have had a couple articles published about my campaign, I have also circulated an email and asked people to forward it on. I have even talked about it on my radio shows. But by far, the most successful tool I have used to promote myself is social media (more specifically, my Facebook group). What I wasn’t expecting was the amount of support I have gotten through Facebook and Twitter. I have more people joining the group daily and posting and sharing the voting link; people I have never met before! It is incredible! I can’t leave my apartment without someone stopping me to talk about the BBE. It is all very overwhelming and heartwarming.
